More Power Herbs

Herbs hold many properties to help u throughout ur day and life, they can be eaten, burnt, in oil or fresh. They promote better health, aiding in fresher skin, calmer mind and an aromatic home.

*Parsley*

Parsley is a great digestive aid. Wonderful on salads and basically can be eaten with almost anything. It is a very versatile herb. If u or someone u know is prone to bad breath, parsley is ur go to, it tames that morning nastiness, lol. And, while freshening ur breath ur also reducing gas. It is a terrific source of vitamin c and beta-carotene. Dried it can be used in olive oil for cooking, and also burnt to bring CALMNESS to ur life and mind. It can free ur mind from anxieties, agitations, over-stimulation and bring a state of serenity. Parsley can be ground with other herbs to make a nice smelling incense to promote relaxation that aids in awareness of others and urself. If u have an essential oil of parsley, test it on ur inner wrist first for any allergic reactions, if u believe u are having an allergic reaction, discontinue use on the skin and use it on a hankie or cotton ball and carry it in a pocket.

*Rosemary*

Rosemary...popular herb for many many things. Very flavorful, wonderful scent and can be in an oil, fresh, dried, etc. Not only eating rosemary, but making an incense of it and burning it can promote MEMORY. Rosemary fights cancer, inflammation and balances hormones. A tea with rosemary helps treat upset stomach, constipation and indigestion. When u wear rosemary oil (always check a small area on the inside of ur wrist for allergic reaction and discontinue on the skin if u feel u are having an allergic reaction, place on a hankie or cotton ball and place in a pocket), It helps stimulate ur mental activity, giving u enough energy to try new things (burning it promotes new ideas to form). It also promotes good sleep, so keep a sprig near ur bed. :)

Marinated Goat Cheese with Fresh Thyme and Lemon

1 4-ounce log fresh goat cheese, sliced into 6 pieces

1 heaping tablespoon fresh thyme leaves and flowers, lightly chopped, plus a sprig or two for garnish

1 packed teaspoon fresh lemon zest

2 teaspoons finely chopped pitted black olives

2 teaspoons finely chopped sundried tomatoes

sea salt or kosher salt

½ cup extra virgin olive oil, more if necessary

Toasted crostini, baguette slices, or crackers for serving

Arrange the slices of goat cheese snugly in one layer in a small shallow dish. (I use a little straight-sided tapas dish for this, but a small gratin dish would work, too.) Sprinkle the thyme, lemon zest, olives and sundried tomatoes over and around the cheese, and sprinkle the cheese with a little sea salt. Pour over the olive oil. It should just barely cover the cheese. Add more if necessary. Let the cheese marinate in the refrigerator for a few hours, and bring it to room temperature about 45 minutes before serving. Put the dish of cheese, the baguette slices or crackers, and a couple small knives out for serving.

*Tarragon*

If u feel u need COMPASSION from others or need to become more COMPASSIONATE, tarragon is the herb u need. Tarragon has the same essential oil found in anise. Dried tarragon does NOT taste like fresh tarragon, lol. So basically dried for burning, fresh for consumption.

Tarragon is great for helping u sleep, toothaches, hyperactivity, depression and it encourages menstruation, so for those heavy bleeders or just after childbirth, I suggest not ingesting tarragon (consult ur doc first). But, it does improve ur digestion and fights bacteria.

Burning dried tarragon reduces suffering, increases meditative states on improving helpful behaviors and lifts u emotionally and spiritually. If u choose to wear a tarragon essential oil, test it on the inside of ur wrist in a small spot to make sure u have no burning or an allergic reaction to it, or place some on a cotton ball and tuck into ur pocket.
