Is Dieting Really Beneficial?

Is dieting really beneficial to ur health and happiness? Good question. Some say yes, others say no. Some people enjoy watching their weight on a 'diet'. Some people seem to be able to eat anything and never gain a pound. But, is it all really benefiting ur health? Ur happiness? Ur enjoyment? Lets take a closer look. :)

Trying new ingredient can be fun and make ur food more exciting and flavorful...so this would be a benefit IF u are munching on spices u add to already low calorie, health inducing foods...such as greens for a salad, scrambled egg whites (for those non-vegans), long grain rice, and whole wheat noodles. U also have to factor in portion control. Thats a hard for me cause I love to eat. :) Explore new foods, ethnic foods and sea foods. U can look up sea food benefits at: http://www.seafoodhealthfacts.org/

Believe it or not, dieting can make u smarter, an I dont mean just by eating the healthy foods, but it makes u think...it spurs u into doing research on what u eat, it requires u, most times, to calculate what the calories are (which requires u to count), lol. Ur diet in essence becomes balanced with healthier foods...I would say this is beneficial. :)

One big benefit, to me on dieting, is after u have been doing ur diet for at least a month, most of the cravings lessen. Will all of them? Hell no! Will u never have a craving again? What a freaking dream, lol :) U will have those times when u crave sweets and/or salty foods. For some women, it all depends on her emotions and time of the month. For almost all, foods can become an addiction, a comfort...mainly women suffer from this. A spike or drop in blood sugar can cause this intense craving for certain foods. Complex carbohydrates and lean proteins go to work on stabilizing blood sugar to prevent these rapid changes. So dont give up on a healthy diet cause these stabilizing effects take a while to happen. :)

Complex carbohydrates are found in whole grains and are mood boosters. So dig out the barley, brown rice, oatmeal and whole - wheat bread, pasta and crackers! :) Foods such as fish, turkey and yogurt contain tryptophan and help stimulate a better mood in u. Defo a benefit to me and anyone suffering emotional issues like depression. Does this mean eat over sized portions? NO! It means, even if u need to get a measuring cup, measure it to the serving size on the package or that a Doctor tells u to have. Us Americans have lost what a true serving size is and it would be beneficial for us to relearn a true serving size amount.

Hmm...limiting from ur food and beverages sodium and high-sugar carbonated drinks promotes a flatter stomach, along with exercise...yes, its the same old same old thing. But its beneficial to lessen sodium as much as u can by using other spices, and by dropping foods high in sodium. And high-sugar carbonated drinks wear away enamel on ur teeth promoting tooth decay. Healthy foods like whole grains, fruits and vegetables lessen constipation...which ladies...is wonderful news if that is an ailment of urs during ur period, js. :) Eating slower also is a benefit, making u more aware of how much ur eating and ur taste buds kick in and let u know if u really even LIKE the food in ur mouth. Slowing down = less air in the tummy also! :)

Did u know that stress hormones cause by cortisol are controlled by Omega-3 fatty acids? Vitamin C lessens these hormones. I would say thats a benefit, wouldnt u? To manage stress eat spinach and nuts (in a normal amount) they are high in Magnesium. Drinking Black Tea after a stressful day will help ur body and mind recover quicker...as will rest and time just for u, like a soothing bath. :)

I think another benefit to dieting (eating healthfully), is that fruits and vegetables with high water contents are not only tasty, but help moisturize and hydrate ur skin, helping u to glow like a peach, lol. :) This is not only for women but men also. Eating with health in mind can help with alot of ailments, including acne, dry skin, and stretchmarks. Fruits and vegetables contain antioxidants which protect against damage to ur cells...thats a BIG benefit. :) Eating salmon, which has Omega-3 fatty acids in it, help also, to reduce wrinkles. YAY! :)

Healthy foods strengthen ur chompers. Yogurt fights bad breath, plaque, and gum disease with its microorganisms. And who doesnt want pearly whites? :) Fruits and vegetables high in fiber, that require lots of chewing, stimulate saliva with antimicrobials to also reduce bacteria in the mouth.

Well, I would say that, Yes...dieting is beneficial, but eating as healthy as u can is the important lesson here. Dieting may help u lose some weight, or it may not...being healthy and eating healthy can happen at any weight...if u lose weight while eating healthy...well then, more power to u! :)

Ty for reading my smexy peeps, cats u on the flipped wheat pancake side! Muah! :)
