Why did I join IMVU...and enjoy it
I get asked this question alot by my family members and friends, they dont understand how someone my age can enjoy meeting people I dont know in real on an internet program. I understand their concern, there are alot of freaky people out there (me being one, in a good way, lol). But, there are so many people of all walks of life on IMVU...young, old, and many in between. Will this take away from having friends in real life (rl), maybe some, but not totaly. Because I dont like people much anyway, it enhances friendships like I dont get in my real life. I meet an talk to people from all over the world, even when I dont speak their language. I find other languages interesting, beautiful and this up's my wisdom intake, lol. I meet people of all forms and personalities, from the open and honest to just the Role Players (RPers), those older than me and those younger, nerds, preps, gamers, students, those in all types of careers, sarcastic people, kind people, those who never want to grow up and those who never want to die (quit). I have met stalkers (not in my real life, but those that stalk u on IMVU), I have met bullies, haters, and fakes. Being on IMVU u have to learn what u will and will not accept in ur imvu life and make it clear to others...my wonderful option is the booting choice in my rooms or rooms I'm mod in, or telling a person exactly why I am leaving a room. I am honest and dont care that ur feelings may be hurt if u are rude, obnoxious, and down right cruel. But, on the other hand, I find IMVU a fun place to meet people, talk, chat, joke, seek advice and have a shoulder to lean on when it's offered on a hard, emotional day. Aaannndddd, the places u can visit...clubs, hotels, malls, beaches, countries, kingdoms, forrests, ranches, etc. Are all interesting and special. To see how others have decorated their rooms and gain ideas from them and buy some of the same wonderful products to use in ur rooms also. I have met some devers (those that make virtual rooms, clothes, furniture, etc.) and I love how some are so realistic, makes the virtual experience even more enjoyable. I can talk forever on this subject, believe me...I really can, lol. But, for those just starting in the IMVU world, I suggest the best thing to do is to find those that are like hearted, have the same interests and treat u with respect and hang around them as much as u can to learn the ropes. Alot of long time IMVU loggers (I call them ancients), can be rude to those new to IMVU (Noobs), which I think is wrong, since we all were new at one point on IMVU. But to be fair, Noobs need to learn to calm down, ask before doing things (like touching another Avatar) and also talk when u enter a room, it's considered rude not to at least greet the room owner, which u can find out who that is by clicking the room name....But, maybe I'll make a video on this or u can look up YouTubes on IMVU tips, tricks, how to's, etc. I joined IMVU because I am an aged wine, I am lonely at times for I am an untrusting soul, I have metal health issues that prevent me from being around people to much, so I find I am kinder and have fun on IMVU. I like RPing at times, but am mainly myself, as in not really in a charater as some are. IMVU is my escape from hardships, a place for me to make friends, to have fun dancing, to hang out and explore. I certainly hope this has covered most of why I joined and like IMVU, I hope u join also and maybe we can meet and have a nice time together also. :)
